  1. Cut the cabbage small.
  2. Boil the cabbage until soft.
  3. Drain the cabbage.
  4. Put the cabbage in a stew-pan with oil, butter, a little water, vinegar, and a small onion.
  5. Season with pepper and salt.
  6. Simmer on a slow fire until all the liquor is wasted.
