  1. Mix flour and water, with a little salt, like a paste.
  2. Roll them in balls, as big as a turkey's egg.
  3. Roll them in a little flour.
  4. Have the water boiling.
  5. Throw them in the water.
  6. Half an hour will boil them.
  7. They are best boiled with a good piece of beef.
  8. You may add, for change, a few currants.
  9. Have melted butter in a cup.

To make hard Dumplings. Mix flour and water, with a little salt, like a paste, roll them in balls, as big as a turkey's egg, roll them in a little flour, have the water boiling, throw them in the water, and half an hour will boil them. They are best boiled with a good piece of beef. You may add, for change, a few currants. Have melted butter in a cup.
