  1. Boil some good macaroni till three parts cooked.
  2. Cut the macaroni into small pieces.
  3. Mix the macaroni in a bowl with sliced sausage, minced hard-boiled egg, wiped and cut up mushrooms, some dice of ham, tiny delicate quenelles, and cooked cocks-combs, with sliced truffles if at hand.
  4. Moisten this with equal parts of strong meat gravy and tomato sauce.
  5. Season with freshly ground black pepper and grated Parmesan cheese.
