Three quarts of spring water ↝ Water, tap [Tap water]
the juice of seven lemons peeled very thin ↝ Lemon, raw [Citrus fruits]
the whites of four eggs well beaten ↝ Eggs, Grade A, Large, egg whole [Dairy and Egg Products]
as much loaf-sugar as you please
half the lemon-peel ↝ Lemon peel, raw [Fruits and Fruit Juices]
The peel of one Seville orange

Instructions (3)

Boil water, lemon juice, egg whites, sugar, and half the lemon peel together for about half an hour.
Pour the mixture through a jelly-bag until clear.
Add the peel of one Seville orange for colour.

Lemonade. No. 3.

Three quarts of spring water, the juice of seven lemons peeled very thin, the whites of four eggs well beaten, with as much loaf-sugar as you please: boil all together about half an[374] hour with half the lemon-peel. Pour it through a jelly-bag till clear. The peel of one Seville orange gives it an agreeable colour.
