  1. Take off the skin and fat from the pork.
  2. Boil the pork in a gallon of water with a turnip and a very little corn of salt.
  3. Let it boil until it reduces to two quarts.
  4. Strain it off and let it stand until cold.
  5. Take off the fat.
  6. Leave the settling at the bottom of the pan.
  7. Drink half a pint in the morning fasting, an hour before breakfast.
  8. Drink half a pint at noon, if the stomach will bear it.

To make Pork Broth. TAKE two pounds of young pork, then take off the ſkin and fat, boil it in a gallon of water, with a turnip and a very little corn of ſalt. Let it boil till it comes to two quarts, then ſtrain it off and let it ſtand till cold. Take off the fat, then leave the ſettling at the bottom of the pan, and drink half a pint in the morning faſting, an hour before breakfaſt; and at noon, if the ſtomach will bear it.
