  1. Simmer six sheep’s trotters, two blades of mace, a little cinnamon, lemonpeel, a few hartshorn shavings, and a little isinglass, in two quarts of water to one.
  2. When cold take off the fat.
  3. Give near half a pint twice a day.
  4. Warm with it a little new milk.
