  1. Season mutton chops with pepper and salt.
  2. Lay the mutton chops in the bottom of a dish.
  3. Reserve the ends of the bones to lay over the turnips.
  4. Cut the turnips and season them.
  5. Lay the seasoned turnips over the steaks until the dish is full.
  6. Add two or three spoonfuls of water.
  7. Cover with crust.
  8. You may add a little onion.

Turnip Pie. Season mutton chops with pepper and salt: lay them in the bottom of a dish, reserving the ends of the bones to lay over the turnips; which cut and season, and lay over the steaks till the dish be full.
