  1. Scale, split, and put the anchovies into a saucepan.
  2. Add a little water, or good broth, a spoonful of vinegar, and a small round onion.
  3. When the anchovy is quite dissolved, strain off the liquor.
  4. Put the strained liquor into your melted butter to your taste.
