  1. Boil one onion and one quart of peas in three quarts of water till they are soft.
  2. Work them through a hair sieve.
  3. Mix the pulp with the water in which the peas were boiled.
  4. Set it over the fire and let it boil.
  5. Add two cabbage lettuces, cut in slices, half a pint of young peas, and a little salt.
  6. Let it boil quickly half an hour.
  7. Mix a little butter and flour, and boil in the soup.

Pea Soup. No. 4. Boil one onion and one quart of peas in three quarts of water till they are soft; then work them through a hair sieve.
