3 ozs. lard ↝ Lard [Fats and Oils]
3 ozs. butter ↝ Butter, stick, unsalted [Dairy and Egg Products]
3 ozs. sugar ↝ Sugar, NFS [Sugars and honey]
1/4 lb. currants ↝ Currants, european black, raw [Fruits and Fruit Juices]
1 egg ↝ Eggs, Grade A, Large, egg whole [Dairy and Egg Products]
1 tea-spoon ginger ↝ Ginger root, raw [Vegetables and Vegetable Products]
ground nutmeg ↝ Oil, nutmeg butter [Fats and Oils]

Instructions (3)

The dough should have risen a second time before it is used.
Mix all the ingredients in a large pan with the hand.
Bake in a square buttered tin.

Dough Cake
