  1. Put the walnuts into a strong cold allegar with a good deal of salt in it.
  2. Let them stand three months.
  3. Pour off the allegar.
  4. Boil the allegar with a little more salt in it.
  5. Pour the hot allegar upon your walnuts.
  6. Let them stand till they are cold.
  7. Make the allegar hot again.
  8. Pour it upon your walnuts.
