  1. Dissolve your isinglass, and put to it two ounces of sweet and two ounces of bitter almonds, with as much juice of spinage as will make it green, and a spoonful of French brandy.
  2. Set it over a stove fire till it is almost ready to boil.
  3. Strain it through a gauze sieve.
  4. When it grows thick, put it into a melon mould.
  5. The next day turn it out.
  6. Garnish it with red and white flowers.
