To stew PEAS with LETTUCES.
SHELL your peas, boil them in hard water
with ſalt in it, drain them in a ſieve, then cut
your lettuces in ſlices, and fry them in freſh but-
ter, put your peas and lettuces into a toſſing-
pan, with a little good gravy, pepper, and ſalt,
thicken it with flour and butter, put in a little
ſhred mint, and ſerve it up in a ſoup diſh.
