Oatmeal Pudding. No. 1.
Mix 2 ozs. best oatmeal in 1 pt. of milk; to it add 1 pt. of boiling milk, sweeten to taste, and stir 10 minutes over the fire; then add 2 ozs. of sifted bread-crumbs. Stir till the mixture is stiff, then add 1 oz. of fresh suet and 1 or 2 well-beaten eggs. Add lemon peel to flavour, or grated nutmeg. Put into a buttered dish and bake slowly 1 hour.
