  1. Take six pounds of black cherries, and bruise them small.
  2. Then put to them the tops of rosemary, sweet-marjoram, spear-mint, angelica, balm, marygold flowers, of each a handful, lily of valley one ounce, aniseed and sweet fennel-seeds, of each half an ounce bruised.
  3. Put the herbs small.
  4. Mix all together, and distil them off in a cold still.

To make Black Cherry Water.
