  1. Take a quarter of a pound of almonds, blanch them, and beat them very fine with rose-water.
  2. Slice a French roll very thin.
  3. Put in a pint of cream boiling hot.
  4. Beat four eggs very well.
  5. Mix with the eggs when beaten, a little sugar and grated nutmeg, a glass of brandy, a little juice of tansey, and the juice of spinach to make it green.
  6. Put all the ingredients into a stew-pan, with a quarter of a pound of butter, and give it a gentle boil.
  7. You may either put it into a cloth and boil it, or bake it in a dish.
