  1. Set them on a fire, unpared, in cold water.
  2. Let them half boil.
  3. Throw some salt in, and a pint of cold water.
  4. Let them boil again till near done.
  5. Pour off the water.
  6. Put a clean cloth over them, and then the saucepan cover.
  7. Set them by the fire to steam till ready.
