  1. Mince small beef or mutton, onion, pepper, and salt.
  2. Add a little gravy.
  3. Put the mixture into scallop shells or saucers.
  4. Make them three parts full.
  5. Fill them up with potatoes, mashed with a little cream.
  6. Put a bit of butter on the top.
  7. Brown them in an oven, or before the fire.
