For the dressing

Mince small beef or mutton ↝ Beef, ground, raw [Ground beef]
onion ↝ Onions, raw [Vegetables and Vegetable Products]
pepper ↝ Spices, pepper, black [Spices and Herbs]
salt ↝ Salt, table, iodized [Spices and Herbs]
a little gravy ↝ Gravy, NFS [Dips, gravies, other sauces]

For topping

potatoes, mashed with a little cream ↝ Potatoes, raw, skin [Vegetables and Vegetable Products]
a bit of butter ↝ Butter, stick, unsalted [Dairy and Egg Products]

Instructions (7)

Mince small beef or mutton, onion, pepper, and salt.
Add a little gravy.
Put the mixture into scallop shells or saucers.
Make them three parts full.
Fill them up with potatoes, mashed with a little cream.
Put a bit of butter on the top.
Brown them in an oven, or before the fire.
