  1. Fry an onion, cut in slices, and an apple finely chopped, in two ounces of dripping.
  2. Mix a dessertspoonful of curry powder and one of four in half a pint of water.
  3. Stir it over the fire with the onions, etc., till it boils.
  4. Strain it.
  5. Put back in the saucepan with some slices of cold meat and a little salt till the meat is thoroughly warm.
