  1. Wash the macaroni, let it boil gently in plenty of water with a little salt half an hour; strain it off.
  2. Put in the milk and let it boil half an hour, with a little piece of cinnamon or bayleaf in.
  3. Beat up the eggs lightly with the sugar.
  4. Pour the milk off the macaroni to them.
  5. Grease a pie-dish.
  6. Lay in the macaroni.
  7. Pour the custard over.
  8. Bake in a quick oven half an hour.

Macaroni Pudding or Sweet Macaroni.—Quarter of a pound of macaroni, two eggs, one pint and a half of milk, two ounces of sugar. Wash the macaroni, let it boil gently in plenty of water with a little salt half an hour; strain it off, put in the milk and let it boil half an hour, with a little piece of cinnamon or bayleaf in. Beat up the eggs lightly with the sugar, pour the milk off the macaroni to them grease a pie-dish lay in the macaroni, pour the custard over and bake in a quick oven half an hour.
