  1. Peel off the rinds of sufficient citrons to give 1/2lb.
  2. Put this into a gallon of any good spirit, with 1/2lb. of very thinly pared orange rind, and two bruised nutmegs.
  3. Let it stand for ten days, keeping it in a warm place.
  4. Add to it three pints of clarified syrup.
  5. Mix well, and bottle off.

Citron Cordial.—Peel off the rinds of sufficient citrons to give ½lb., and put this into a gallon of any good spirit, with ½lb. of very thinly pared orange rind, and two bruised nutmegs; let it stand for ten days, keeping it in a warm place, then add to it three pints of clarified syrup, mix well, and bottle off.
