To preserve BARBERRIES for TARTS.
PICK the female barberries clean from the stalks, then take their weight in loaf sugar, put them in a jar, and set them in a kettle of boiling water till the sugar is melted, and the barberries quite soft, the next day put them in a preserving-pan, and boil them fifteen minutes, then put them in jars, and keep them in a dry, cool place.
