  1. Grate half a nutmeg into a pint of wine.
  2. Sweeten it to your taste with loaf sugar.
  3. Set it over the fire, and when it boils take it off to cool.
  4. Beat the yolks of four eggs exceeding well.
  5. Add to them a little cold wine.
  6. Mix them carefully with your hot wine, a little at a time.
  7. Pour it backwards and forwards several times till it looks fine and bright.
  8. Set it on the fire, and heat it a little at a time for several times till it is quite hot and pretty thick.
  9. Pour it backwards and forwards several times.
  10. Send it up in chocolate cups.
  11. Serve it up with dry toast cut in long narrow pieces.

To mull Wine.
