  1. Cut the cabbage as before.
  2. Throw some salt upon it, and let it lie two or three days, till it grows a fine purple.
  3. Drain it from the salt.
  4. Put it into a pan with beer allegar, and spice to your liking.
  5. Give it a scald.
  6. When it is cold, put it into your jars, and tie it close up.
