Beat ¼ lb. butter to a cream, mix with ½ lb. chopped candied peel, 1 lb. currants, ¼ oz. cinnamon, ¼ oz. allspice, a little sugar; mix well, and keep in covered jar to use in sandwiches of puff paste (see Paste and Pastry).
