For the jelly

  1. Put the crab apples in a pot and cover them with water.
  2. Place them till they are quite soft in a slow oven.
  3. Drain off the syrup and boil it quickly, allowing 3/4 lb. of sugar to each quart of juice.
  4. Put it in jars, and it will jelly.

Apple Jelly. No. 3. Crab Apples. Put the crab apples in a pot and cover them with water. Place them till they are quite soft in a slow oven. Drain off the syrup and boil it quickly, allowing ¾ lb. of sugar to each quart of juice. Put it in jars, and it will jelly.
