Seed Cake, or rather Loaf. No. 4. (St. Julian's. 1864.) 1½ lbs. of flour, ½ lb. butter, ½ lb. sugar, 2 ozs. carraway seeds, ½ teaspoonful carbonate of soda, 1 tablespoonful of baking powder. All to be well mixed together, and added to 2 eggs beaten with a little warm milk, then put into the oven immediately. This cake quickly gets stale, so should be eaten soon.
