Barley Water. No. 2. For 3 pts. water you will require a teacupful and a half of well-washed pearl barley, 4 lumps of sugar, and the thin rind and juice of 1 lemon. Pour boiling water over it, cover with a saucer, and let it stand till cold; then strain again and again till clear, and pour into a jug or decanter to serve.
