  1. Sweeten a quarter-pint of good melted butter with an ounce and a half of sugar.
  2. Add to it gradually a couple of glasses of wine.
  3. Stir it until it is at the point of boiling.
  4. Serve it immediately.
  5. Lemon-grate, or nutmeg, can be added at pleasure.
