  1. Take fix pounds of black cherries, bruise them well.
  2. Put to the bruised cherries the tops of rosemary, sweet marjoram, spearmint, angelica, balm, and marigold flowers, of each a handful.
  3. Add dried violets, one ounce.
  4. Add anniseeds and sweet fennel seeds, of each half an ounce, bruised.
  5. Cut the herbs small.
  6. Mix all ingredients together.
  7. Distill them off in a cold still.
