  1. Gather your roses when they are dry and full blown, pick off the leaves.
  2. To every peck of roses, put a quart of water.
  3. Put them into a cold still, and make a slow fire under it, for the more gradually it is distilled, the better it will be.
  4. Bottle it, and in two or three days you may cork it up for use.
