  1. Take a quart of cream, boil it, and let it stand till almost cold.
  2. Beat up four eggs very fine with a spoonful and a half of flour.
  3. Mix the eggs and flour well with the cream.
  4. Add sugar and nutmeg to your palate.
  5. Tie it close up in a cloth well buttered.
  6. Let it boil an hour.
  7. Turn it carefully out.
  8. Pour over it melted butter.

Quaking Pudding. TAKE a quart of cream, boil it, and let it stand till al-most cold; then beat up four eggs very fine, with a spoon-ful and a half of flour: mix them well with your cream: add sugar and nutmeg to your palate. Tie it close up in a cloth well buttered. Let it boil an hour, and then turn it carefully out. Pour over it melted butter.
