  1. Twist off the stalks.
  2. Put them into cold water, and wash them well.
  3. When the water boils, put them in with the tops downwards, that all the dust and sand may boil out.
  4. About an hour and a half, or two hours, will do them.
  5. Serve them up with melted butter in cups.
