  1. Take a three-penny loaf, and cut the crumb of it into slices.
  2. Boil two quarts of milk and pour it on the bread.
  3. Add one pound of veal suet melted down.
  4. Add one pound of currants, and sugar to the taste.
  5. Add half a nutmeg, and six eggs well mixed together.
  6. This pudding may be either boiled or baked.
  7. If baked, be careful to well butter the inside of your dish.

TAKE a three-penny loaf, and cut the crumb of it into slices. Boil and pour two quarts of milk on the bread, and then put to it one pound of veal suet melted down. Add to these one pound of currants, and sugar to the taste; half a nutmeg, and fix eggs well mixed to- gether. This pudding may be either boiled or baked; if the latter, be careful to well butter the inside of your dish.
