Peaſe and Lettuce, to stew
- Pick over the peas, and if they are dried, soak them all night.
- If they are fresh, put them into a stew-pan with a quart of water, and boil them till tender.
- Wash the lettuce, cut it in halves, and boil it in the water with the peas.
- When the peas and lettuce are tender, drain them from the water.
- Put them into a stew-pan with a bit of butter, a little mint, salt, and pepper.
- Stir them well, and serve them up hot.
