  1. Rub one pound of butter, one pound of sugar, and five eggs to a cream.
  2. Add one tea-cupful of milk and a few drops of essence of lemon.
  3. Knead to a stiff dough.
  4. Cut in rings, and leaves, and heart.
  5. When done, ornament with icing sugar in the usual way.
