one pint of milk ↝ Milk, NFS [Milk, reduced fat]
a piece of lemon-peel ↝ Lemon peel, raw [Fruits and Fruit Juices]
one ounce of sponge biscuit
three eggs ↝ Eggs, Grade A, Large, egg whole [Dairy and Egg Products]
half an ounce of currants ↝ Currants, european black, raw [Fruits and Fruit Juices]
very little sugar ↝ Sugar, NFS [Sugars and honey]
raisins ↝ Raisins [Dried fruits]

Instructions (4)

Boil one pint of milk, with a piece of lemon-peel.
Pour it on one ounce of sponge biscuit, let it soak half an hour.
Add three eggs, half an ounce of currants, and very little sugar.
Steam it in a buttered mould, lined with raisins, one hour.
