  1. Dry half a pound of flour.
  2. Rub into it a very little pounded sugar, one ounce of butter, one egg, a few carraways, and as much milk and water as to make a paste.
  3. Roll the paste thin.
  4. Cut it with the top of a cannister or glass.
  5. Bake fifteen minutes on tin plates.
