  1. Beat the yolks of five eggs till light with 1/2lb. of caster sugar, and add 1/2lb ground almonds, working this all well together.
  2. Mix in lightly 1/2lb fine sifted flour alternately with the whites of the eggs whisked to a very stiff froth.
  3. Pour it all into a well buttered mould and bake very slowly.
