  1. To a gallon of rum put three pints of orange-juice and one pound of sugar, dissolving the sugar in the juice.
  2. Then put all together in the cask.
  3. It will be fine and fit for use in a few weeks.
  4. If the rum be very strong, you may add another pint of juice and half a pound of sugar to the above.
