  1. Put the juice of a lemon, with the rind grated, into a dish.
  2. Sweeten it to your taste.
  3. Boil a quart of cream till it is reduced to three half pints.
  4. Pour the reduced cream upon the lemon mixture.
  5. Let it stand to cool.
  6. It should be made the day before it is used.
