a quarter of a pound of powder-sugar ↝ Sugars, powdered [Sweets]
one ounce of ginger, beat and sifted ↝ Ginger root, raw [Vegetables and Vegetable Products]

one gill of cream ↝ Cream, whipped [Cream cheese, sour cream, whipped cream]

Instructions (3)

Rub half a pound of butter into a pound of flour.
Add a quarter of a pound of powder-sugar, one ounce of ginger (beat and sifted), the yolks of three eggs, and one gill of cream.
A slow fire does them best.
