  1. Get your currants when they are ripe.
  2. Pick, bake, and squeeze them the same as you did the elder-berries.
  3. Put six quarts of the juice into a large tossing-pan.
  4. Boil it over a slow fire till it is pretty thick.
  5. Keep stirring it till it is reduced to one quart.
  6. Pour it into flat pots.
  7. Dry it, and tie it down the same way as you did your elder rob.
