  1. Put 1 lb. of flour, 3 lumps of sugar, and a piece of butter about the size of a walnut into as much boiling milk as will work it into a stiff paste.
  2. Add a few carraway seeds.
  3. Put it into a cool place for about 1 hour.
  4. Take small pieces of the paste about the size of a hazel nut and roll out each piece as thin as a wafer.
  5. Prick with a biscuit pricker and sift some fine sugar over them.
  6. Bake in a slow oven.
