  1. When you have half-boiled your lobster, take it out of the water.
  2. Rub it well with butter, and lay it before the fire.
  3. Continue basting it with butter till it has a fine froth, and the shell looks of a dark brown.
  4. Then put it into your dish, and serve it up with plain melted butter in a sauce-boat.
